TRAIL RUNNING IN THE PITZTAL
Region with marked tours
Non-stop alpine terrain
The trend is undeniable: Ever more runners leave the asphalt and move to higher terrain. The Pitztal is trail running region number 1 and sets an example with its numerous marked tours – a new trend among insiders. Approximately 120 kilometres are already marked, covering a third of trails and paths that are suited for trail runners.
The marked tours provide information on difficulty level, altitude differences and route distances as well as the estimated duration. An interactive map with GPS tracks for downloading as well as a free brochure with detailed tour descriptions provide additional information. By the way: Between July and September beginners can join a free trial training, always on Wednesdays. In addition there are several multi-day camps with different focus areas.
Trained runners can meanwhile explore heights of up to 3,000 metres and put distances of 100 kilometres as well as several thousands of metres of difference in altitude behind them. But there are, of course, more moderate alternatives for beginners and children. More information is available directly with us at the Mandarfner Hof Hotel.
